In captivity, tentacled snakes can live to be 10 to 20 years old.

Tentacled Snake Housing

Tentacled snakes are water snakes they are more like fish than other reptiles. They only come above water to breathe.

One adult tentacled snake can be kept in a 20 gallon aquarium. Four can be kept in a 55 to 60 gallon aquarium. Seven can live in a 125 gallon aquarium.

Tentacled snakes like to try to escape so you should make sure they they can't get to the top of the aquarium.

Tentacled Snake Lighting & Temperature Requirements

Temperatures should be between 77 and 82 degrees and they need special lights above the aquarium.

Tentacled Snake Substrate

You can either leave the bottom of the aquarium empty or put gravel or sand on it.

Tentacled Snake Food

Tentacled snakes love to eat fish! Most tentacled snakes will eat about 20 to 30 2 inch fish per week.
